WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 As a member of the Legal team at Optiver Europe, you will report directly to the Head of Legal Europe and work in close cooperation with the HR Europe team. As Senior Legal Counsel you will be the point of contact for the HR Business Partners, the HR Operations team and the business on all relevant legal employment matters within Optiver Europe and Optiver UK (to a certain extent).

Optiver is open to filling in this Senior Legal Counsel role as a part-time or fulltime position.

A part-time role will focus on employment law and is for, in principle, 3 days a week.

However, this Senior Legal Counsel role can also be a fulltime position if there is flexibility to perform legal work in other areas of relevance to the Optiver Europe Legal team as set forth below.

As a full service legal team, the Optiver Europe Legal team covers a wide range of topics. However, at the outset this role will focus on providing additional support in respect of:

• providing legal advice on all employment matters, including employee performance (such as PiP process), employment conditions, policies, sickness and leave, legal feasibility of HR strategies and dismissals;
• other areas of relevance to the Optiver Europe Legal team, such as technology contracting (including supporting internal initiatives in this area), privacy matters, general contracting and corporate housekeeping.  

 WHO YOU ARE:

•  Academic degree in Dutch Law; 
• 5+ years of relevant working experience (preferably trained in an international law firm with in-house experience);
• A flexible, pragmatic, pro-active, assertive and results-driven professional with an entrepreneurial spirit; 
• Outstanding business to legal translation skills;
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills;
• Great written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Team player with a good sense of humour.
