Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team in the UK. This person will play an influential role in a number of finance activities, including, but not limited to, managing the UK’s regulatory reporting obligations and overseeing the financial reporting process. You will also have the opportunity to impact the wider finance environment across the business by interacting with counterparts in our Chicago and Amsterdam offices in projects such as global technology transformation.

What you’ll do:
Regulatory reporting:
- Primary responsibility for preparing regulatory reporting in accordance with the Investment Firm Prudential Regime (“IFPR”) for a MIFIDPRU investment firm, and responsibility for inputting into regulatory capital calculations
- Playing a key role in preparing the annual Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (“ICARA”)
- Collaborating with other functions and the business on the changing regulatory landscape, and analysing the impact of Optiver's evolving business
Financial control:
- Overseeing and coordinating financial reporting processes, in particular some of the month-end close process for multiple entities
- Understanding and controlling the reporting of trading assets and liabilities
- Reviewing complex expense and profit sharing allocations between entities and business units
Financial reporting:
- Helping to manage the preparation of annual financial statements and audit-related deliverables, liaising with our external auditors as required
Project work:
- Opportunity to have an active role in various global initiatives, including technology transformations. Partnering with other global finance teams and control teams to ensure initiatives are best practice and fit for purpose

- Qualified accountant – ACA/ACCA
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
- 5 years+ post-qualified experience, preferably within the financial services industry
- Experience of the UK regulatory regime (IFPR), and experience of regulatory reporting
- Experience of working in a finance team, and managing a broad range of finance activities/initiatives
- Detailed knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements
- Proficient in Excel
