If you’re in the later stages of a STEM or Econometrics Bachelor’s Degree or starting your Master’s, becoming Optiver's Trading Analyst is an excellent opportunity to put your analytical prowess to the test. You’ll work closely with experienced Traders, Engineers and other Analysts to identify and create solutions that continuously improve Optiver's trading strategies. Along the way, we'll provide our world-class, in-house trainings; develop your coding skills; and provide you with flexible working hours. Act now – this is a fantastic stepping stone to becoming a full-time Trader at a leading global market maker.

Important note: To qualify for this role you need to be situated and study in The Netherlands, and be eligible to work more than 16 hours per week. We do not offer sponsorship for this role.

WHO WE ARE:

At Optiver, our mission is to improve the market by injecting liquidity, providing accurate pricing, increasing transparency and acting as a stabilising force no matter the market conditions. With a focus on continuous improvement, we play an active role in the safeguarding of healthy and efficient markets for all participants. We tackle the toughest problems, challenge the status quo and always aim for excellence. As one of the largest market making institutions, we are a trusted partner on 70+ exchanges across the globe.

Our Amsterdam office is where it all began. Since our founding in 1986, Optiver’s Amsterdam office has developed into one of the most dynamic and exciting trading floors in Europe. Our culture reflects the Dutch capital city’s progressive, innovative and inclusive nature. With its unique spirit, Amsterdam is the ideal hub for our teams to trade a wide range of products, from listed derivatives to cash equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign exchange.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Trading Analyst, you will work directly on one of Europe's most dynamic and exciting trading floors, where over 100 Optiver traders manage their own books. You will analyse day-to-day trading performance, work on projects that optimise our strategies and pricing, and ensure trading sheets are well structured. All of this will take place in close collaboration with our Traders, Engineers and other Analysts who constantly invite you to challenge the status quo and propose areas of improvement.

The opportunities to develop yourself in this role are endless and a steep learning curve is guaranteed. You are welcome to participate in our 'Trading for Non-Traders’ program, sign-up for Python and SQL courses after work, join the morning trading meetings and work on your personal effectiveness by participating in one of many courses our Learning & Development Department has on offer. All in all, the Trading Analyst role is a fantastic stepping stone to becoming a full-time Trader at Optiver upon your graduation.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Currently situated and studying in the Netherlands, and eligible to work more than 16 hours per week
  • University student in the 3rd year of your Bachelor's, or 1st/2nd year of your Masters, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance or equivalent

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Genuine interest in the financial markets
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

WHAT YOU’LL GET:
