Optiver appoints Lance Braunstein as Global Chief Technology Officer
Optiver is pleased to announce the appointment of Lance Braunstein as Global Chief Technology Officer, effective 1 May 2025. Lance will join as a member of the Executive Committee and Partner, based in the New York office.
In this newly-created role, reporting to CEO Jan Boomaars, Lance will drive a unified global technology strategy across business lines and regions, working closely with regional CTOs.

Lance brings extensive experience in building and managing technology platforms at leading financial institutions. Most recently, he served as Head of Aladdin Engineering at BlackRock, overseeing the design, product management, development and operation of the firm’s investment management technology platform. Prior to that, he was Chief Information Officer at E-Trade, where he developed a world-class options trading platform. He has also held senior technology leadership roles at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.
Lance holds an MBA from The Wharton School, a Master of Science from Colorado State University, and a Mathematics degree from the University of Rochester.
