Market Risk Manager

Optiver is looking for a Market Risk Manager to join our ambitious, results-driven Risk team who is focused on analysing and improving our Trading risk framework. The ideal candidate has an affinity for financial markets and a strong quantitative and technical background. As Market Risk Manager, you will work closely with traders to develop and improve our risk systems, methodologies, and limits. You will be joining a team that is rapidly expanding and helping us identify and implement a long-term vision.

What You'll Do:
- Perform stress tests and analyse the risk of various trading positions
- Clearly communicate risk data and positions to key internal stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory capital limits
- Proactively keep track of relevant news that might impact our trading positions and strategies
- Report risk violations to the Head of Risk and the Trading department
- Proactively identify, capture and evaluate risk incidents
- Analyse orders/quoting behaviour of our electronic execution strategies
- Interact on a daily basis with traders on in-depth risk related topics
- Conduct data analysis to improve and enhance our risk framework
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop and/or maintain risk tools
- Write policy, procedure and general risk documents, as necessary
Who You Are:
- Prior experience in Market Risk Analyst role
- Strong understanding of options pricing theory
- Experience in at least one commodity market
- The ability to understand trading strategies and make informed decisions in fast-paced trading environment
- A quantitative STEM degree
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to dive into details
- Strong knowledge of programming or scripting (Python or similar) required
- A curious and investigative nature with an ability to analyse large datasets using Jupyter, SQL or similar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exposure towards regulatory and operational risk beneficial
