Payroll Accountant

We are expanding our team and in search of a detail oriented and deadline-driven Payroll Accountant. As a Payroll Accountant you will share in the ownership of multi-state payroll processing and 401(k) administration. This role requires excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adherence to complex policies, procedures, and regulation.

What you’ll do:
As a part of our Optiver Payroll team, you’ll collaborate with Finance team and HR team members to process payroll and field inquiries from employees. You’ll also partner with various teams across the business on special projects that are essential to our dynamic business.
- Demonstrate a high level of ownership, precision, and professionalism in processing semi-monthly, multi-state payroll in ADP Workforce now and 401(k) administration.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and complete computation and processing for new hires, terms, transfers, bonuses, and other ad hoc deduction or benefit items
- Support/resolve employee payroll and 401(k) questions in a timely and effective manner
- Identify and propose process improvements for increased efficiency and reduced risk of manual errors
- Continuously develop, maintain, and document procedures and internal controls
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of 401(k) funding, payroll transactions, and related journal entries in support of month-end close deliverables and external audits
- Assist with company credit card and travel and expense reimbursement processing in Concur
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree and payroll certification or training
- 2+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll, utilizing ADP
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and payroll regulations
- Strong time management and prioritization skills, proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
- Ability to define problems, research and resolve issues or inquiries timely
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
- Fidelity 401K administration and/or NetSuite experience, a plus
