Optiver's Data Analysts collaborate with Traders, Data Engineers, Quantitative Researchers and Technologists to perform in-depth data analysis. They sit on our buzzing Trading floor – the heartbeat of the business – to share their market insights with our Traders, Quantitative Researchers and Developers. As a Data Analyst, your observations and recommendations will be highly valued, and trusted to inform crucial trading decisions, including identifying new trading opportunities. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Being a Data Analyst at Optiver is not just about analysing data. You will be the key person who transforms raw market data into concise, actionable information. By viewing trading strategy inefficiencies through a structured, statistical lens, you'll enable us to improve our results. You will also be responsible for developing our data analysis application, which provides large-scale, real-time strategy analysis.

No two days are the same on the Data Analyst Team. Your work will be dynamic and ever-evolving, with a mixture of short and long-term projects. You can expect to: 

• Analyse and transform terabytes of raw market and trading data
• Provide the Trading team with new insights that improve their strategies or automate their tasks
• Use data analysis to detect and evaluate unwanted trading patterns and assess potential risks
• Streamline data pipelines, conducting modelling and make visualisations
• Build, own, maintain and further develop different interactive trading applications
• Write and test code for several ongoing projects
• Continuously broaden your technical horizon and stay up-to-date with the latest technology

WHO YOU ARE:

In terms of skills and qualifications, we're looking for:

• 3+ years experience in a data analyst role working with real-time data sets
• Academic degree in a STEM related area: e.g. Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer science, Engineering, Econometrics etc.
• Advanced knowledge of Python experience with scientific Python stack (e.g. Pandas, Numpy and SciPy) 
• Problem solving mindset 
• Proactive, can-do attitude
• Eagerness to learn
• Strong communicator: you need to able to translate your ideas to different areas of the business
