Optiver wins market maker of the year at FOW International Awards

Optiver was honoured at the FOW International Awards in London last night with the Market Maker of the Year prize.

With leading market share1 in listed derivatives across every major asset class, Optiver was recognised for its role in providing liquidity to investors during this year’s volatility.

“Investors faced a challenging environment this year, and Optiver was there, delivering consistent liquidity in listed options across equities, commodities, FX and fixed income,” said Aldo van Audenaerde, head of trading for Europe at Optiver. “Alongside our core business of liquidity provision, we also made great strides in our institutional trading and principal strategic investments efforts, and we’re grateful for the recognition of our achievements this year.”

As inflation and geopolitical tensions brought commodities and rates markets into focus, Optiver’s preeminent position in energy, metals and Treasuries options meant investors could transact at consistent, competitive prices. Optiver was also recognized for its historical strength in equities and index products, as a top-ranked liquidity provider for European index and single-stock options, options on US index futures, as well as in Hong Kong index and single-stock products and options on the Nikkei 225 Index.
