Amsterdam is where Optiver began in 1986, built on a simple idea that markets function better when liquidity is deep, spreads are tight, and prices adjust quickly to new information. Teams work across the full lifecycle: forming views on how markets behave, translating those into pricing logic, generating live market outcomes feeding directly into the next iteration. This integration is critical as markets become more fragmented and data driven. Many of Optiver’s core capabilities in European market making, particularly in equity derivatives, are developed and refined here before being extended across products and regions.

Our Amsterdam trading teams operate in European markets that are deep, fragmented and constantly evolving. Equity derivatives remain a defining area of expertise, where Optiver has built a leading position over decades. Teams work closely with researchers and engineers, combining quantitative models with European market-structure expertise to price and manage risk across equity derivatives, cash equities, ETFs and futures.

Structured training, hands-on learning, and direct mentorship help people contribute quickly, with early exposure to trading, research, and technology.
